- 4 / 5By direct caravansSecond stay at Banchory Lodge. The staff are all excellent, the food is fantastic, the location perfect. The rooms are large and have very large bathrooms. They can be a little hit and miss with the views and its an old building. The decor of the rooms is not contemporary a little odd compared to the comfortable and contemporary dining area and bar. One little thing put me off this time the presence of a dog in the bar area when food was being served .... maybe me being picky and I understand people want their pets with them sometimes but i don't like the idea of dogs around food and even worse the thought they could end up in the bedrooms. So the unusual and eclectic decor of the rooms and the visitors dog stopped Banchory Lodge getting 5 of 5. Otherwise perfect.July 09, 2016
